Michael Singer: Jai Guru Dev, Jai Masters. There are certain truths which are just absolute as a very nice truth. People can’t mess with them. Your life should be about those truths. If your life is not about absolute truth, it’s about relative truth and everybody has a relative truth. What is relative truth? Well, it depends. If you’re very sincere and you would like to know truth, you take your experiences, you be honest about them and you try to put together what looks like the truth. The trouble is everybody’s doing that. You understand that? You literally think that people are purposely lying when they’re trying to tell the truth based on what they’ve seen, based on their experiences. I showed you the most foundational things that I have found in life is a statement that psychology says man is the sum of his learned experiences. You can’t just gloss over that. Why? Because that’s the truth. It’s not the truth that you are the sum of learned experiences.

The truth is that your mind and your heart are programmed by the some you learned experiences. You get turned on or turned off based on your past experiences. You don’t know if something, you’ve never seen it before, you don’t even know anything about it. It neither turns you on or turns you off. You may be scared about it if because things you didn’t know about before scared you, right? You learn, you learn. You learn to people. You learn to not like people. You learn to like foods. You learn to not like foods. You learn to like countries. You learn to like music here. You were dating somebody in high school and you really loved her very, very much and she dumped you like, oh my God, she ran off with your best friend and so on, and that used to be a song that you all played together. You hate that song. It’s a song not to you. It’s not, and you think this is natural. You just think, why should we even talk about this? Are you kidding me? This is reality. This is what’s going on. Your mind is a sum of your learned experiences. They’re not a single thing. Go on inside of there, but some of your learned experiences, that’s what your preferences are, your likes, your dislikes, your hopes, your dreams, not hopes and dreams. No, no, no. Those are spiritual things. Oh, do I get in trouble? No, they’re not.

I don’t qualify this. Now, if you’re depressed, I want you to have hope, but I can tell you what you hope for. Same thing everybody else hopes for. I hope I’ll get what I want and you hope you don’t have to get what you don’t want. So that’s not spiritual, but it’s good for you as opposed to being depressed, as opposed to giving up, as opposed to thinking. There’s just no hope. That kind of hope. Okay? And your dreams are the same thing. What are your dreams? I dream someday my ship will come in. Is that the same as her ship and her ship and his ship, same as your ship was when you were five? No. It’s something you make up in your mind based on your learned experiences. It basically says, I’ve had experiences. Could be a movie, a book I wrote, I saw somebody else, whatever a dream I had, it could be anything.

Every one of those things that an experience, their experiences, they came in and they influenced your psyche. They influenced the programming of your mind and the program of your heart. You are programmed. Do you understand that? Now there is someone in there you who is shaking their head yes because you know this is true. Why? Because you’re watching your mind. You see your thoughts, you see your emotions, don’t you? You’re the consciousness. You’re not the somebody. Learn experiences. You’ve always been there. If you’re the somebody learn experience and you didn’t exist before you had the experience, okay, this is my husband, I am his wife, okay, you didn’t exist before you met them. You just to defined yourself as that you defined yourself as the wife. Well, what were you before you got married? You were in there the same. You just had not had that experience. Therefore, your mind was not programmed with the wifey thing or the husband thing when you were going to get married. The word marriage meant so my God, you blew you away. Alright? And when you’re getting divorced, the word marriage makes you puke.

Why? It’s the same word. Look it up in the dictionary. It didn’t change because there were a few of these learned experiences in between the marriage and the divorce. So this is the truth, that truth is relative period. It will always be relative. It is absolutely relative. There’s not one single thing that your mind says about what you like, what you dislike and how you put the things together. That is truth. It’s just the way it got together in your mind. If you met somebody right after you had an operation and your husband died and your father died on the same day, you probably will not like that new person. Your impression, remember first impressions. The trouble is it’s not the outside scene that makes the impression. It’s how it impressed you. You well, you’re not neutral in there are you? Sometimes you’re open, sometimes you’re closed.

Sometimes you’re happy. You just won the lottery to meet somebody. Hi. Okay, so wake up. There is nothing that is going on inside that part of your mind. What part is that? The personal mind. Why is it called the personal mind? Because it’s made of the sum of your learned experiences. Take a breath. That’s a very spiritual thing. The personal mind versus the impersonal mind. Let’s get that down. What’s the personal mind? First of all, what is mine? Mine is a field, a vibration field that has no limit. You can think of galaxies, you can think of this, you can think of a peanut, you can think of anything you want. So the mind is just a field, a field of energy that can create thoughts. Just like an ocean can create waves. Thoughts come and go. Waves come and go. Clouds come and go.

Right or wrong. Do your thoughts come and go. So basically it’s a field, a very high vibrational field of energy. One that our scientific instruments have not even come close to being able to measure the subtlety of the mental plane. It is just a field of energy. They didn’t used to know that there were x-rays. They didn’t used to know there were beta rays. They didn’t used to know that there was infrared. They didn’t used to know that there was gamma. They didn’t know anything about it, and then they made an instrument that could pick up a gamma ray or an x-ray or an ultraviolet. Did they then say it’s an alien thing? No, they said it’s just part of the electromagnetic spectrum. Guess what? It has edges or there. Radio waves and gamma waves on one end or the other. Guess what? Those are just the edges that are instruments at this time are capable of measuring.

There are no edges. It’s an infinite universe. There are infinite vibrations. It goes on forever and at all levels and all frequencies and all everything. But we don’t have instruments that can pick it up. Tomorrow they make an instrument that can pick something else up. Someday they will pick up the mental plane. Why? Because you do have thoughts. They exist. Thoughts are things. Just because I don’t see your thoughts, a psychic can. Just because I don’t see your thoughts doesn’t mean you don’t have them. That’s not true. You don’t have those thoughts. I never had that thought. So you don’t have it. That’s ridiculous. You have thoughts and you have emotions. They are real. They exist. They’re just a very high vibration rate of energy that we don’t have instruments to pick it up. What’s amazing?

Can you believe that you are far beyond any of the scientists? Why you have an instrument that can pick up thoughts? You must be, you do hear ’em, don’t you? So basically that’s what mind is of infinite field of energy can do anything, alright? But that’s not what you do with your mind. You in there. What you do with your mind is experiences come in through your senses, you in there consciousness, experience them and sometimes the vibration feels good, what comes in feels good and sometimes it doesn’t. That’s just reality. Some sounds are pleasant, some are woo okay and everything, its vibration. The Buddhists speak about that. Everything has its nature. So the example I always use, people yell at me for using the same example. It’s a good example, A rattlesnake coiled up, rattling 10 feet in front of you does not feel the same when it comes in as a butterfly landed on your arm, does it?

They’re both atoms. There’s just a bunch of molecules combined together. They’re giving off vibes, okay? They’re giving off vibes and not just the physical experiences coming in. The vibrations coming in and when it comes in, you experience it because you’re capable of experiencing things. Well, what happens is there are ones that you like and ones that you don’t like and instead of truth, honoring and respecting that reality, what reality? There are vibrations out there just like there’s vibrations in electromagnetic spectrum, there are vibrations in all of life. That’s called reality. It will always be that way. That’s how it is. There are people that are nicer, are people that are not nice. There are dogs that will bite and there are dogs that will cuddle and be nice. It’s just reality. It’s reality. How do you know? Let those who have eyes to see, let them see ears to hear.

Let them here. That’s what Christ’s talking about, right? That’s how it is. But when it comes in, you experience it. That’s what’s supposed to happen. You’re here on the planet earth to experience experiences. What do you do with them? I know what you should do with them. You should honor and respect every single experience that you have. Why? Because it’s reality. You shouldn’t be like that. Well, that’s not true. You have the sum of your learned experiences. You shouldn’t have said that to me. That’s not true. If you took the sum of her learned experiences, put them all together, including the moment before she saw me, the exact words that she said will come out of her mouth because it’s just a sum of your experiences. It’s not you. You’re the one who’s in here, but you have these experiences and they cause your actions.

So basically you get to the point where you understand that the personal mind is not the mind. It is a subset of mind. It’s like a program running inside a computer. You can run any program you want inside a computer, can’t you? A recipe, a this, a medical thing, whatever you want. That’s not the computer, the computer’s, the ones that running it. Your mind can have many different things going on in there. You have a program in your mind. Every one of you called the personal program that runs all the time nonstop inside your mind. Well, what’s it made of? How to get programmed, make a program of the summer learned experiences. You had these experiences, you didn’t like it, so what did you do with it? I always pick on you for this, every one of you, if you haven’t experience you don’t like, you store it, you keep it. That’s what Freud was about. You suppress it, you own it. You just keep it there. It’s the funniest thing in the world. You have stuff in there that you didn’t like from your childhood. You have things in there that mommy and daddy did that you didn’t like. You have things that your first boyfriend or girlfriend did that you either did or didn’t like. How do you know it’s in there? Because it comes up but it’s not happening anymore. Why is it coming up? I’m yelling at you.

Why would you decide it was wise to store the worst things that ever happened to you when they’re over? Seriously, I challenged you go to a restaurant and have some bad food served to you. Just there’s something wrong with it. It made you really, really sick. Just even a smell it or touch it. First bite. Oh no, I’m not eating this right? Well, the wise thing to do is to call the waiter waitress over and say, excuse me, can you please give me a doggy bag?

Okay, and you take this doggy bag home and you’ve put aside a room in your house called the sick room and you put it in there and every single morning when you get up, you take a little spoonful so that you never forget how disgusting it was. That’s what you did with your bad experiences. You stored them. They’re still going on. Okay, let’s deal with it. We’ll get together and deal with it. I’ll help you, right? But if it happened 10 years ago and it will never not have happened, what are you doing? What can your inner state be like? If you store every single thing that ever bothered you inside of you, guess what? It’ll be bothered, isn’t it? So now what do I do now that I stored the things that I liked which weren’t that many? Believe me, the things you didn’t like compared to the things you did like it’s not even close.

Plus, once you build enough that you didn’t like everything reminds you of it. You dated a guy in high school that had a lisp or had a blonde hair or red hair and it was a bad experience. You don’t like people that have lisps and you don’t like people that have red hair. Don’t understand that. You just generalize the whole thing. Everything hits your stuff. That’s the problem. The world is not the problem. The world is not the problem is not the problem. That there’s yin and yang, that there’s dark and light and high and low and nice and not nice. That’s not the problem. The problem is you can’t handle it. The problem is that you stored every single thing that ever bothered you inside of you and now everything bothers you. Do you understand that? The honest statement is you complain all the time.

You complain about the heat, the driver in front of you, what somebody said, what somebody didn’t say. What’s perfume? Somebody’s wearing what? Somebody’s not wearing this. That every single thing, the clothes they’re wearing, every single thing bothers you. Come on the temperature. What temperature do you like? I don’t know, 69 or 70 up to maybe 76 humidity. Oh no, no, no. Now my hair gets messed up. No below 40% humidity. That’s what I like. Well, then you’re in trouble because it doesn’t hit that very often. Now you can go move somewhere where it’s like that. It’s now running your life. It’s absurd. It’s literally absurd and you store this stuff inside of you and then that becomes what we call the personal mind. That’s where you stored it. You stored it inside of this beautiful thing called mind. You made a subset of what you like and what you don’t like and what happened to you, et cetera, et cetera, et cetera, and it is all the time occupying your consciousness.

That’s what you’re drawn to all the time. What do you do about it? Well, obviously I’m not stupid. If I have things going outside of my mind that bother me, I avoid those. I avoid anything that reminds me of what I didn’t like. Right or wrong? Do you want to have a dog? You have a relationship with somebody, have a dog. Do you want to have a dog? No. No, I don’t have a dog. I had a dog when I was little. Used to poop all over the place and didn’t work out well. No, I don’t like dogs. That’s actually, you think that a rational statement. You had one dog when you were little and you know about dogs, don’t you? It’s so amazing and you sit there because your universal set is not so universal. It’s personal. The only thing that has in it are your experiences. I always say this to you and I know you don’t get it. No one gets it. Anytime you’re having an experience, how many are you missing? How many experiences that are going on all over the world, all over the universe that you’re not having at the time you’re having that one experience that you’re having that 700 billion zillion and yet the one experience you happen to have is God to you. I don’t like dogs. No, I don’t have a dog.

Get quiet. This is a serious problem. How about this is the cause of every single problem that exists on the planet earth. Everybody has had different experiences. Therefore everybody has a different personal mindset. Therefore, everybody thinks I have evidence. I had a dog. I’m not impressed. Marriage doesn’t work. You should have seen what happened to mine. Okay, you get married again. No, I’m not going to get married again. Every experience you’ve had, I’m going to tough one. You ready is statistically insignificant. I know who’s going to win the next election. How do you know? I asked him.

No. That’s not a good sample size statisticians. Don’t accept that. Guess what? Nothing inside your mind is a good sample size. I read it. You read, you read anything you want nowadays, but I read it. She told me, she told me about him. I don’t have anything to do with him. She told me that that’s the experience she had. You do it all the time. You doesn’t even sound weird, does it? No, no. Sally told me what George is like, no, I don’t have anything to do with ’em. Okay, wow. You sure know drawers real well. That is what you’ve done with this beautiful thing called your mind. You’ve built this tiny little subset that it talks all the time. It tells you what to do and what not to do, all based on your past experiences, and you sit there and your mind says, that’s all I have in my past experiences.

Well, all I have for the election is what he said. Maybe we best not be listening there. There’s spirituality for you. There’s no way in the world the personal mind knows anything because it’s made up of its personal experiences and it hasn’t had any that are meaningful statistically. But because the experience you had was so strong, it is loud in there and it drowns everything else. But I don’t like that kind of person. Why would you dare to look at it? You had some experience and the experience could be what your parents taught you experience B, what your preacher said. Those are all the sum of your learned experiences and they are meaningless. They’re statistically insignificant. They’re not the truth. They seem like the truth to you. The only time I ever saw a cat and this was a cat I saw, I think I know cats.

I don’t know cats right or wrong. Have I caught you? Do you not do this? Everyone does this. Who has ever had the same experiences as you? I mean every experience where you are, every moment you’re having every experience you’re having sight, sound, touch. Who has had the same experience as you? Nobody live now. Nobody ever. It has never happened before. Wow, you’re unique but you got programmed by this meaningless experience that you had and it now runs your life. They were people who become traumatized. What does it mean to be traumatized? You experience an experience that was so negative, so difficult to experience that it captured your consciousness and you will never talk again for rest of your life. You’ll never go outside, you’ll never be near a man or a woman or a foreign person or an American or whatever. You had this experience that you couldn’t handle.

It got stuck inside your mind and your heart. It draws your consciousness to it all the time and you are a mess. Can one experience do that? Can one experience ruin your entire life? Is that reasonable? You are the highest species on the planet. How can it be the one arbitrary experience, right? If your coffee maker was somewhat slower than normal because the person who made it had a fight with their wife three years earlier and didn’t solder the thing well enough, and so it took five seconds longer to make your coffee, therefore you weren’t at the traffic light where the accident took place. Your whole life is different. Right or wrong. You want to live like that. Who wants to live like that? That’s completely ridiculous. So these are not the truth, and so you start talking about there’s a thing called absolute truth.

We’re not even close the personal mind. It’s not a lie. It’s not that you didn’t, don’t understand. I did experience that. Don’t tell my dad. I know you experienced it, but you gave it a hundred percent. Wait. Now do you hear me? If anything different had happened, it would be different in there. That’s not reasonable to base your life on that and you base it so much so that you keep that stuff in there. You think you know the truth. Look at all your views and different things. They’re all based on something. I’ll put this to sleep. I know you haven’t, but I’m going to ask. I know it’s embarrassing. Has anyone ever changed their mind? Has anyone ever changed their mind? You just changed it the time you want fall in love with somebody who thinks different than you. I think your thoughts will change.

I guess I didn’t understand fully. You’re right. Can we go out again? Just change in a moment. You know what I’m saying? So that personal mind, that part of your mind that is full of the sum of your learn experiences. See, psychology says that you’re not the sum of learn experiences you, but that part of your mind is the sum of learn experiences. But do they call that part of your mind, your psyche? Your psyche is not your mind. The psyche is the program part of your mind? Can you think other than that, we’re doing it right now. I hope it’s helping. Let’s get this down. Can you live your life without listening to the personal part of your mind? Absolutely. You just won’t be prejudice. You won’t be scared all the time. You won’t have to. What do you do with that personal part of your mind?

You listen to it. Why? It makes you Because it’s very not comfortable If something gets hidden in there and something happens that it doesn’t want. It’s like a spoiled child throwing tantrums. Have you ever had to get really bad? Have you ever had situations happen outside that are so different than what you wanted that you broke, that it broke in there, that you didn’t even know who you were, you didn’t know what to do or what to think? Just come on. Say yes, I hope so. Not that I want you to suffer, but I want you to realize how stupid that thing is. You, you’re running around with a time bomb inside your head, aren’t you? And inside your heart at any moment anybody can do anything and you’re a basket case, okay? Spirituality is about waking up. That part of your mind is stupid. It’s dumb what you did. You did it. No, that experience actually happened. I know, but it’s over. I made a rule for Mickey and he’s not very good at it. Long time ago when I moved out here and dropped out in the seventies, early seventies, it was the rule. If it’s not going on outside, it’s not going on inside.

Very rational. You drive by cars, you drive by trees, you have clouds, weather, all kinds of things go on. I don’t want to sit there being neurotic about everything. If it happens, it happened. It didn’t feel good. Fine. It’s over. Thank God. Let’s throw a party. Hur, you don’t even do it with your divorces. Very few people that got divorced are really divorced. They still think about it. The person still bothers them. It’s still going on in their head. They can’t go to certain places. They used to go there together. You get divorced outside. You didn’t get a divorce inside you. Is it that person’s fault? Well, maybe what they didn’t in the time it could have been really bad, but they’re not doing it anymore. It becomes your fault if it’s not happening anymore and you’re still bothering yourself about it. It’s something you are doing to yourself.

The other person’s not even there who will talk to this way. This is truth. So what do we end up doing? We end up devoting our lives to the worst things that ever happened to us. We sit there and say, where do I want to live? What do I want to do? Who do I want to meet? And all of it’s based on your personal self. I’ve been having fun lately with these dating services, which if I talk about these things, it’s just to make you laugh. Just laugh at yourself, but don’t not do it. Don’t listen to me. Right? So what’s the dating service? You go on the web, some of you have done it. You go on the web and it asks you some questions. Do you like a tall person? Do you like someone who’s strong? Do you like someone who’s docile?

Do you want to live in the country? Do you like city? Et cetera, et cetera. All these questions. What color is your favorite? What color do you want someone to? What kind of food do they like? Do they like Italian food? Do you like Chinese food? And you put all that down there. I’m confused. It sounds to me like you’re looking for, you go date yourself. What you wrote down there is what you want, what you like. You wrote down the some of your learned experiences made you think that way and now you can go find some my soulmate. It doesn’t exist. We just said no one had the same experiences as you. So now we go out with these preferences, hopes and dreams and concepts and views and likes and dislikes and fears and anxieties. All based on what past experiences. Our past experiences, our self, and what do we do? We go out and try to make the world outside of us, come in in a way that feels good to us and make sure it doesn’t happen in a way that makes us feel bad. We try to manipulate the outside world and you’re taught to taught that it’s supposed to be how many people think the world is not supposed to be the way they want. If it’s not the way you want, you have a word for it. It’s wrong.

That was wrong what you did. How could you believe that? How could you believe that? I can’t believe this. Are you crazy? See, if it doesn’t match you, it’s wrong. And it seems that way because you have evidence to some of your learned experiences, which I’m telling you scientifically is not evidence. It’s absurdity. We’re caught in it. We’re caught being caught in your mind. That part of your mind, I call it personal mind. That’s your ego. That’s what’s meant by the word ego. It’s true that that part of your mind is some your learned experiences. They have a name for ego. It is your self-concept. What is a self-concept? Something you made up about yourself. Concept’s, not reality. Concept. What you think about something, how you think about it. What’s your concept? Would it be like to go to New York or to Hong Kong? You make one up.

Well, I looked at the web once and I said this is, I have a concept that it’s like this. You have concepts. Concepts are not reality. Concepts are mental things. And in psychology called that thing inside your mind, your self-concept, something you made up about yourself. I am this person. I’m the person that likes this. I’m person married to George. Those are my children. I me, mine, I me, mine, I me. Mine. Okay, I’m the person that played Dorothy in Wizard of Oz in the fifth grade and everybody clapped. Therefore I’m a good actor. You’re just defining yourself by the experiences you had. Why? I think it’s funny as you get old, I really like it old. I really do. Or I think it’s a marvelous, but wait until you get to experience. It’s great. Let’s say you’re a very attractive woman or a very handsome man. Kind of got a little self concept about that. You’re GQ on the front cover, you won, do a beauty award in Oshkosh or something, right? And so you have a self-concept that you’re an attractive person.

We see what happens. You’re not going to get old why? It’s reality because it doesn’t match your self concept. It doesn’t match what you made up about yourself. So this whole concept of building something inside your mind, which you’re actually looking at, you’re the one who’s looking at do you have an ego? Do you have a self-concept? What happens when you present your self-concept to somebody and they say you’re lying. You’re not like that. That didn’t happen to you. You’re not married to him. That’s not your kid. How you doing? You are resting your consciousness on your self-concept. You live inside your ego, that mind of yours that you built in there. The personal mind. It’s so small. Wait, can we do that? I don’t care who you think you are, how big you think you are? Megalomaniacs running around there, right? Are you kidding me? You’re one person out of what? 8.3 billion that are now alive on the planet earth.

You’re real important. Now we’re going to start using another part of your mind that was not a very personal thought. In fact, that’s very challenging. People write me, why are you making me think that? It makes me feel swell. You are, go and make yourself want to be big. You’re not. You’re one of 8.3 billion. That’s a big number. Billion people on the earth today. And there have been billions and billions and billions that came and went already. You’re one of those and soon you’re not going to be here. Have you ever found out that sometimes people are here and then they’re not here anymore? Where did they go? They disappeared. They were here. They had a self-concept. They had views and opinion. Where are they now? They’re not here anymore. Someday you will not be here anymore. Alright? But you want to be important. You’re not.

There’s another party you that really is, but it ain’t that part that you made up and put together based on the leat experiences is so small. We already said the leat experiences is nothing. You missed every single thing every moment. So how can, it’s nothing you pulled out of the moment you’re having be something. Then you sewed them together into a self-concept. I like this. I don’t like that. I’m this kind of person and people think about them, blah, blah blah, blah. And how small is that compared to all the people on the planet earth? They all had experiences, didn’t they? Aren’t you just one of them? And even if you want to think you’re big on a planet earth leave. What do you mean go in downer space. Astronauts do it all the time. Go out there and look at a little planet spinning out there. How important are you? What did I tell you? Once, 1.3 million planet earth fit inside the sun. Take a breath. How important are you?

Now maybe this doesn’t make you feel good. It should make you feel wonderful. It means I’m free. I don’t have to hang out with a stupid self-concept and prove myself to everybody all the time and make sure that everything’s the way everybody wants it to be and make sure they all clap. When I come in the room, it doesn’t matter. It’s meaningless. You see the difference in truth and non-truth? It’s the truth. And it didn’t stop. In case you think, look at 1.3 million earths inside the sun. So how could we mean anything? What’s going on in the stupid planet? So 1.3 million earths inside the sun. You ready? How many sons are there? 300 billion in your galaxy. This is called using your mind for truth instead of using your mind to make a sick thing in there and then going out there and trying to manipulate everybody and everything so that when it comes in it doesn’t bother you as much and maybe even feels good. What a tiny life.

That’s why you suffer. You suffer. Buddha said everybody’s suffering. They are alright. Yeah, but I got what I wanted. Well, we’ll see how long it lasts. Tell me the last time you got what you want and didn’t want anything else come. I’m waiting. Your entire life. Your entire life. Sometimes you got what you wanted. It was over, right? Wake up. So this is what happened. The world came in and you made an ego. You made a self-concept out of it. And now I would say you own it. It owns you. You better do what it says. You suffer. It makes a mess in there, doesn’t it? And so you’re out there trying to serve your ego. You are out there trying to make everybody and everything be the way so that when it comes in, the ego says woo. And when it comes in, it’s like that’s why you’re neurotic.

That’s why you’re anxious, that’s why you’re scared. And this whole concept of what you want and what you don’t want is just somebody learn experiences. So you wake up and you realize there are two parts of your mind, the personal and the impersonal. The impersonal is based on truths. What do you mean? The truth is you have dropped down onto a tiny little planet in the middle of nowhere. You’ll be here for a few years. That’s the truth. Well, I don’t like that. Too bad. Too bad. It’s the truth. So the truth becomes if it’s true that there’s this little tiny little planet spin around in the middle of nowhere and dark black, empty space. I visited an astronomy department the other day a few weeks ago and I asked them, I know you’re studying exoplanets and all that kind of stuff going on, how many planets are there?

How many of the 300 billion stars in your one galaxy? Which by the way, there are 2 trillion galaxies, but we won’t do that to your mind because it breaks it. But out of your 300 billion stars in the Milky Way galaxy, how many have planets? What they said? Basically everyone has at least one or a few. You’re a really important sitting here on this little planet, aren’t you? It’s just a planet spin the middle of nowheres and you’re not staying here. How many years are you going to be here? 80, 90, a hundred. It’s been here for what? 4.5 billion years. This planet’s been here and you drop down to visit for 80 or 90 and you making a big deal out of it.

Spirituality is about the following. That part of you is not important. That part of you has had experiences which are very little, is that anytime you’re having experience, you’re missing all the rest and that’s all. And you’re having them and you’re experiencing them. The part of you that is very important for some reason you pay no attention to which is the one who’s having the experience. Your experiences don’t mean squat. There’s one in a trillion who’s having the experience. How do you know you had an experience? How do you know anything? How do you know you have thoughts? Do you have thoughts? How do you know? Do you have emotions? How do you know? Have you had experiences? Can you see out of your eyes? Can you hear? How do you know? How do you know? Do you know who sees when you see who hears when you hear?

Who notices thoughts? Who notices? Do you have emotions? How do you know? Because you’re in there. You’re not what you’re experiencing. You’re the one that’s experiencing it. It’s a case of subject object. You are the subject, you’re the end user. You’re the end user and everything else is something you’re experiencing. You are not what you’re experiencing. You’re the one that experiences it. That is spirituality. Who are you? And that’s what all spirituality is about. That’s all of yoga is about. That’s what life is about. Self-realization. Do you know who’s in there? No, I haven’t even thought about it. Why? I’m too busy staring at what I made up in there and then trying to make all you guys be the way I want you to be so that I’d be okay staring at what I made up in there. You just made it up. You made up a you.

It could be anything you want it to be. So basically you wake up and realize that I’m telling you that that party is nothing. It’s nothing. It’s just something you made up. Everybody did it. And because everybody made one up based on different experiences, everybody wants something different. So there’s wars, so there’s disharmony, so there’s all these problems. Because of that, how can you expect everyone to get along if they all made up something different and they’re only okay if they get what they want and they’re never okay if they get what they don’t want, right? Hitler doesn’t want there to be Jews. He wants Germany to take over the whole world. I think that caused a few problems. Why did he have to think like that? He didn’t have to think like that did. Why did he have to pay attention to the part of him that thought that? Imagine what the world would be like. Alf, let it go. Let it go.

Just relax through it. Yeah. Here’s a Jew, here’s a black person. It wasn’t just Jews. Here they are. Come on, breathe, listen to me. Breathe. Breathe through it. Breathe through it. You can handle it. Breathe through it, okay? Okay. We don’t have to bomb. Blow up London and Berlin and Paris and ruin the whole culture that ever exists. Okay? Alright, so you wake up and realize the problem is not the world. The problem is that you couldn’t handle the world. You couldn’t handle reality and because you couldn’t handle it, you did the same thing everybody else does, which is you resisted it. I don’t want to have this experience. Have you had experiences you didn’t want to have what you did with them. Freud said you pushed them away. You didn’t want to experience them so you kept on a distance from you. You in there.

The self, the consciousness, the experiencer. If I push away the experience, I don’t have to experience it. Yeah you do. You have to hold it down there your entire life. It does not go away ever until you let it go. It doesn’t dissipate. Don’t use that word. If I keep your dad long enough, it’ll go away. Really? I like the family that says we don’t talk about that around your father. Oh, daddy’s got a problem. Daddy stored some stuff in there, didn’t he? And we’re not supposed to talk about it. Watch for you step. Ever been around somebody you’ve ever watched what you say, this is why because you pushed it away, it stayed in there and now the world comes in and hits it and you have to rationalize it or suppress it or do whatever like Freud was dealing with. Serious. Serious you couldn’t handle.

Alright? Most of Freud’s studies were with people that were institutionalized. You know that they saw stuff and so he dealt with suppression, repression and denial. I call him resistance. That catches all of it. It came in. Did it come in? If it didn’t come in, I don’t have to worry about it. It happened. It came in and not on my watch. Come on. I want you to feel it. Ever done a not on my watch. You did not say that to me. Well obviously I did or you wouldn’t me to tell ’em I didn’t. What’s wrong with this conversation if I didn’t say it to you? We don’t have a problem, right? Obviously I got said it came in and you didn’t like it very much and so what did you do? You did not want it coming. I tilted lately. There’s a thing called all the way in.

Then it comes all the way in, it happens. You experience it and it goes through. You did not experience it. You can bring it back in memory, but you didn’t push it away. You know what percentage, I’ve been doing this for a long time. What percentage of what comes in through your senses? You let go right through. I assure you it’s like 98% goes right through the grass, the trees, the clouds, the most weather. People walk by, things come in through your senses. They go through. Did you experience them? Yes. Did you have to hold them back and fight them a cloud run by right now. Look at everything you’re looking at. It’s all coming in. You have the right to bring it back. We have memory stores like computer does, but that’s not what we call a samskara as a very deep word in the yoga tradition.

What’s samskara something that didn’t go right through? What do you mean? It came in and I resisted it. I didn’t resist all the other things. They’re there, but I resisted that. Wait a minute, wait a minute. You guys are sitting fairly close. She looks a lot like my sister looked before she died. Are you in relationship with her? I want to talk to you guys. It didn’t make it right through did it? It hit something in there. It created something that I stopped the experience and held it inside of me. Have you ever done that? Ha ha. Alright, well I’m trying to teach you pay attention when you wake up for the witness. Where do you see how many? You don’t do that. About how many white lines on the road just driven by? Were some of them dashed where some of the yellow were white?

Was that okay with you? If it’s okay with you, it goes right through. You still know you saw it. But if it’s not okay with you, if something happens and either you want to experience it, what did you say? Oh my God, no one’s ever been that nice to me. Can we go out again? When can I see you again? I ain’t letting go of that baby. I’m holding on to that for the next time until I see you. I only have eyes for you dear. Ever Hold on to something you liked it very much then that got stuck in your mind. Ever hold on to something you did not want to experience? It didn’t want to come all the way in and so you pushed it away. No, I don’t want to feel that. You do it all the time. That is what your ego’s built of that stored stuff in there.

You built a house in there and it’s powerful because it’s stuff that you liked and didn’t like and you built your ego out of that. And that’s what your self concept is. It’s not everything you experienced, it’s the stuff you stored in there and it’s loud, it’s powerful and therefore you don’t think about who’s experiencing it. You think about how do I get it what it wants. How do I be okay? Because I’m staring. I use the word distraction. I really like that word. Distraction is a very spiritual word. Why? You are distracted by that thing. It’s powerful. It draws you into it. If something reminds you of something you liked, you want it to happen again. You don’t do that with the white lions. Well, I hope I see that one again. I can’t wait. I can’t wait. But you do it with what somebody said or something bothered you.

You don’t want to happen again. So now you devote your life to trying to make the world outside when it comes in. Match what you want. But who’s in there? No one even knows they’re in there. No one thinks about it. Why? Because they’re so distracted by the ego, distracted by their beliefs and hopes and dreams and s and views and preferences and then they devote their life to that part of themselves. That’s not very good, alright? You devote your life to yourself and that’s what the great masters are. What did Christ mean when he said my Father I one. He meant that I who’s in there, maybe here say it. His saying was as follows, meditate on the self honor and worship your own being for God dwells within you as you. That’s the you. That the kingdom is within you and it is the truth. And anyone who explored that part of their being, man, you spend one second in the self and your life will never be the same because you realize you’re not who you thought you were. Notice who you thought you were. You are who you are. When Moses at the burning bush and it told him, go down and tell LA Pharaoh, let my people go. Right? And he said, Pharaoh’s a pretty powerful guy. I tell him, burning bush told me, I don’t know.

I don’t think he’ll do it. Alright. And Moses asked God, they have lots of gods down there in Egypt. What God should I say? What’s your name? What did he say? I am that I am. Whoa I am. That which is always has been, always will be, never, wasn’t. That’s who you are. That’s who’s back there. Holy mackerel. And you’re busy devoting your life to what you’re looking at, which is basically a bunch of poop. Is it not? Are you having fun hanging out in there with your ego, trying to make everybody be the way you want them to be and make sure that everything goes right and doesn’t ever go wrong? And are you having fun in there yet? But the Bible will say Old Testament, when you are thrown out of the garden, what’s the garden? You’re living in the south, you’re experiencing life.

It’s open. You’re seat in the deep seat of consciousness experiencing the beauty of everything Y and young. It just all comes in, passes through. You’re experiencing life. You say, oh my God, so beautiful. Be here now. It’s all coming through. Alright. When you’re thrown from the garden, what it say now you must work by the sweat of your brow. Don’t you work by the sweat of your brow to be okay to try to be okay, not to be okay because you’re not but to try to be okay. The most powerful people in the world, they seem okay to you. They can’t handle anything. All of ’em, the strongest people. They have to make sure that things are the way they want them to be. What does that mean? That means they’re the weakest people that are walked the face of the earth. If you can’t handle anything, I can’t handle what you did, handle what you said.

I can’t handle anything, can’t handle anything. They’re not exactly the way I want it to be. Okay, well then there’s something wrong. I’m not talking about anybody in particularly. That’s how it’s, and so you wake up and you realize there are truths and we’ve talked about some of ’em and there are non-truths, but the non-truths aren’t fake news. Come on, that’s minor. Non-truths aren’t propaganda. Find, let’s get a little bit bigger. The non-truth is your ego and all that other stuff is of ego. Why would somebody lie? Because something didn’t match their self concept and they don’t want to face it.

I didn’t say that. I didn’t. Didn’t say that. I have it on tape. You faked it. Why am I doing that? I can’t handle it. I’m weak. No, I’m strong. I can control you. No, that’s not, the fact that you need to control me means you’re weak. The fact that you can’t handle reality is a major problem. Well, that’s the part of you that can’t handle reality tag. You got one. So what is spirituality? What is truth? You have to learn to not be married to that ego. It’s not who you are and it’s a major problem and it’s very, very difficult to live with and to say that you’re going to solve the difficulty of what it is to live with by making everybody else be the way you want. Wow. Why don’t you just let go on a stupid thing a lot easier.

I know as difficult as it is to let go of yourself, what do Christ say to die, to be reborn? Die. To be reborn means to let go of what you’re staring at, what you made up, this stupid thing that you have going on in there inside your personal mind and then all of a sudden your spirit, you die of the personal to be reborn in the spiritual is, I know what we’ve talked about all day, but you don’t realize how married you are to the personal and it is not easy to let go. Why? Because it’s powerful. You are addicted. People get addicted to alcohol and drugs because they’re already addicted to their ego. If it was beautiful in there, you would’ve been doing that stuff. The whole 10 commandments would go away. Why? Because people don’t do ’em. You don’t need them. If you’re okay in there and you’re filled with love and joy and God is great, I just love it.

I’m going to kill anybody. You’re going to lie. I can steal some Beatles’ spouses. Okay, so we’ve had a nice talk. We talked about truth and non-truth. Non-truth is way bigger than you think it is. Non-truth is the ego. Your ego is not the truth. It is not true. You’re beautiful. It’s not true. You’re not beautiful. It’s not true. You’re a male. It’s not true. You’re a female. It’s not true any of that. You’re the self. The truth is you’re the self. You’re the consciousness. You are at all times the consciousness. It is the same consciousness that looks out through his eyes and sees what sees and notices that there are thoughts in there and notices. There are emotions. When you are able to sit in that seat of consciousness, it’s called becoming established in the seat of self. That’s the truth. Now you’ve touched truth and you shall know the truth and truth shall set you free.

This is all the deep teachings from the deep beings. Buddha Christ, they teach the same thing but nobody’s listening. What they think is let’s be spiritual and make our thoughts be spiritual. Let’s make our feelings be spiritual. Let’s make the ego believe what we say we should all believe. No, no. That’s still you staring at something. You are the self. How do I be the self stop not being the self. How do you get out? You learn to handle reality. You’ll learn to handle what comes in via peace inside. Then what? Just the people walk over me. No, that doesn’t mean that. Handle it. Accept it as reality. Then see what you can do to help as opposed to what you’re doing. All of us as a generic, you try to manipulate it so that you can handle it. That’s not handling it. That’s basically saying, I can’t handle it, so I’m going to come out and change you guys so that I can handle it.

That’s dumping your stuff out into the world. That’s the ultimate pollution. Everything I’m doing is not to help you or the situation. It’s to help me. I can’t handle it. Learn to handle reality. The new book, living Untethered, is very, very deep because it really lays down how to learn to handle reality and what happens. When you can do that now you become a blessing on the earth. You come down every situation that happens, handle it, be at peace with it. Serene, love, respect, compassion. Now look, is there something I can do to help? I want to meet that person that’s the saint, that somebody who comes down and everything they’re doing is trying to help the situation. Whatever the situation is, I’m here to serve, not serve me, not get what I want. You’re whole and complete within yourself. There is so much beauty Shakti flowing inside of you day and night, just pouring inside of you, feeding you. Listen to me. Every one of you. That’s the reality of what’s going on inside of you. Well, why don’t I feel that? Because you’re staring at the part of you that you collected over the course of your life and that part’s not so good. Is it not doing so well? And that’s why you don’t feel the Shakti. You’re looking away from it. If I look into the darkness, I don’t see the light. If I turn around, okay, I understand truth versus this stuff we do. Jai.
